Mike Candella

As your State Farm Agent, I have served the City of Opelousas, St. Landry Parish and all the communities in Acadiana. This July I celebrated my 47th anniversary as an Agent for the State Farm Mutual Insurance Company. It seems like only yesterday! Serving my policyholders has been one of my greatest joys. And I am looking forward to serving many more years. I am proud to say that our agency strives to reach a Standard of Excellence in all our endeavors. I could not do this alone. I have a great staff who helps me deliver service which is in keeping with our goal to reach the standards of excellence everyday we open our doors.

After graduating from LSU, I moved to Opelousas in 1975 to open my agency. The early years saw the births of my three children all in Opelousas. They have now enriched me with my precious grandchildren. They are a true blessing in my life.

As State Farm Agents, we are encouraged to give back to the community. I chose an uncommon effort. For ten years, I have volunteered as a canine handler for Special K-9s Search and Recovery where we search for missing persons who are presumed to be deceased. I have participated in many community outreach endeavors in my life but my service in the Search and Recovery Community has been my most fulfilling of all.

I offer my most sincere gratitude to all those who have helped me along the way both in my agency and my community service. I have a huge debt of gratitude to my staff: Lauren, Juli, Lana, Tasha, and Macy. I tell them all every chance I get that they are truly The Wind Beneath My Wings.
